François is an Assistant Professor at NC State. His teaching and research focus on understanding in-stream biogeochemical processes, watershed-scale water quality, and watershed hydrology. After graduating from Ecole Nationale Supérieure Agronomique de Rennes, (Rennes, France) he earned his Ph.D. at NC State under the mentorship of Dr. Wayne Skaggs. François worked as a Research Scientist for eight years with Cemagref in his native country of France before returning to North Carolina. An admirer of nature, François enjoys sailing, birdwatching, botany and spending time with his family. His daily transportation is a human-powered two-wheeled machine. |

Troy is enrolled in the Ph.D. program at NC State. He is interested in learning about water quality and hydrology in addition to developing research tools to better monitor natural processes. He earned an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Akron and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at NC State. Raised in a rural setting, Troy appreciates quiet natural environments. His prized possessions include a book entitled Shopwork on the Farm, a highly engineered baby stroller and Black Warrior #2 pencils. However, even these treasures are surpassed by his wife and baby daughter. |

| Ken
is a Senior Research Engineer and has over twenty-five years of machine
vision and programming experience. He has worked in both academic and
industrial settings. Ken earned undergraduate degrees in Business
Administration and Computer Systems in addition to a Master's Degree in
Industrial Engineering. Ken is constantly volunteering in multiple projects outside of his day job. He is fluent in Spanish and can provide an anecdote about nearly everyone he has ever met in his life. His pride and joy are his two teenage (college-attending) children and his wife. |

| Andrew
is a Software Engineering Manager. His industry experience
includes working as a test lead and test manager for multiple product
groups at Microsoft, including the Visual C++ and Visual Studo teams.
He has also worked as a software development manager at self-funded and
venture captial-based start-ups. He earned his undergraduate degree in
Computer Science at Transylvania University and attended graduate school
at the University of Illinois.
Andrew is currently working on the GaugeCam service that processes incoming
images in the background, as well as creating a
database that will link with future web applications.
Andrew enjoys volunteering and he once ate twelve donuts at the midpoint of a four mile race - all for a good cause. He also volunteers occasionally for Kramden Institute, a non-profit that refurbishes computers for students in need. He's always expanding his computer programming repertoire when not working late hours at his day job. |
